Position: Product Manager, Mass Market Acquisitions
Reports to: VP of Marketing
Position Term: Full Time

Job Purpose:
  • Responsible for developing, leading and executing our mass market acquisition strategy, the Product Manager, Mass Market Acquisitions leads an agile team leveraging lean agile principles to rapidly experiment and iterate new supporter acquisitions both through net-new channels and through existing channels via radically new ways that lead to efficient growth at scale. Working closely with the Integrated Marketing Team, the Product Manager, Mass Market Acquisitions will also own and lead key flagship full-funnel mass market campaigns aimed at achieving our mass market targets for new supporter acquisitions, mass single gift revenues, and recurring giving revenues.
You will lead the alignment of our mass market acquisitions with the support of several other internal teams including Integrated Marketing & Campaigns, Strategic Communications, Creative, Offerings, and Experiential. You champion a supporter-centric strategy with a bias towards our two key mass market segments (Covenant Partners & Global Partners), but have the freedom to experiment outside those two segments to achieve your mass market acquisition goals.
The Product Manager, Mass Market Acquisitions sets the mass market strategy, influences the product/offering roadmap for mass, and demands user-centric features and offerings that best resonate with their mass market segments to ensure we delivers unique value based on real supporter needs.
The ideal candidate will be highly customer centric and focused on value delivery with experience leading in an Agile environment. The position provides leadership to their Product Owners and dedicated segment-focused agile teams, while also acting as a “client” to drive large mass market acquisition campaigns with the support of both internal and external “agencies”.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Product Management

  • Sets and champions the vision and strategy for mass market acquisitions. Owns the mass market acquisition roadmap and prioritizes building what matters most to achieve the acquisition goals with a focus on creative supporter value via minimum viable concepts that result in validated learnings that can be scaled.
  • Sets the priorities for experimentation and iteration for their the segment agile teams using the scientific method resulting in validating learnings with the potential to scale.
  • Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product offerings for mass market working with the Group Product Manager and the Offerings teams to review product specifications and requirements; appraising new product and/or experience ideas and/or product or experience changes to ensure it meets the needs of the mass market audiences and key focused segments.
  • Gains a deep understanding of customers' needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information. Assesses market competition by comparing the organization's product to competitors' products.
  • Clearly articulates the business value to the product and market segment teams so that they understand the intent behind the new product or product release or customer experience. Frames customer problems to explain why improvements are needed.
  • Defines key metrics to measure feature success or failure. Ensure measurement is done on every feature, making confident go/no-go decisions based on the results.
  • Leads and coordinates all the activities required to bring mass market acquisition initiatives to market. This includes bridging gaps between different functions within the organization and aligning all the teams involved.
  • Ensures consistent operational excellence in delivery of mass market acquisition offerings and experiences that deliver against the mass market acquisition goals.

  • Builds and nurtures cohesive and collaborative interactions across business units and other teams to support operational and strategic goals.
Qualifications required:
  • 7+ years of product management experience and demonstrated experience leading major business initiatives in an Agile environment is mandatory.
  • 5+ years in People Management.
  • University degree in business, marketing, or related field is preferred.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to provide solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Able to excel in a dynamic environment while managing several project simultaneously.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills to realize maximum value.
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Strong ability to influence, inspire, and coach direct and indirect teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data driven decisions.
  • Has experience navigating through conflicting priorities, turning ambiguity into clarity in a fast-changing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience driving change (people, process, system) to support growth.
  • Financial planning and strategy.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Other personal attributes: ambitious, assertive, analytical, energetic, enthusiastic, confident, optimistic, inquisitive, persuasive, and motivational.
  • Non profit experience would be an asset.
  • Ability to travel to the Mississauga office once a quarter.
